Halis'i muayenesi sonunda umdugundan daha iyi buldugunu soyledi.
Ilk aklimiza gelen cok emek verdigi Sandima fotograflarini yakın plan gostermek oldu.
Hatice Hanimla calismaya devam edecegiz ve kendisine simdiden cok tesekkurler.
TODAY, our physical therapist Ayse Hanim brought a young specialist with her. She's a graduate of Gazi University School of Special Education and has experience working with blind children. She came to determine the status of Halis' eye sight and to then inform us on courses of action. We thank her for her visit. We were quite excited of getting to know this young person so full of dedication and curiosity for her field of work.
After Halis' consultation, she found his situation better than she expected. She thought that the inhales that he had been experiencing often -though less now- could be signs of his emotions. Working with his eyes and the eye area, she made him open and close his eyes and follow objects with his eyes, all while speaking to him. We saw a clear enlivening in Halis.
Hatice Hanim had these suggestions for us: Do not do anything meaningless. Show him things that he loves and recognizes from a close distance while identifying the object and lightening it. In addition, show him documentaries, movies related to his profession and movies he loves. Instead of talking to him in a manner that requests an answer back, speak to him like a TV commentator. Hatice Hanim recommended a lot of books, music and chats with him. The first thought we had was to show him up-close photos of Sandima, a project which he dedicated a lot of time.
We will continue to work with Hatice Hanim and thank her in advance.
